I'd agree that Clarkson has a strong opinion on just about every subject
under the sun, and that many (most?) of them are, to a greater or lesser
extent, uninformed. But then so do I, and so do most people in this
world - who's got the time to inform themselves in sufficient detail on
everything to have a truly valid and defensible opinion? And even if
you did you'll still find someone equally well informed who vehemently
disagrees with you.
As long as you remember that Clarkson's opinions are just that, HIS
opinions, I can live with them, even when they occasionally clash
strongly with mine. It may be uncool to say so, but I'll confess to
finding his style amusing, and most of what he does (and writes in
various magazines and newspapers) entertaining. Better that someone
should speak their mind, even if not in possession of every relevant
fact, than remain bland for fear of offending someone IMHO.
If you don't like it, turn over, exactly as you do John!
