Hi Suzie
Just got to this hope it's not too late.
I think the easiest way is the size of the front pulley, to the best of my
knowledge the pulley for the small crank engine is always smaller than for
the large crank engines, certainly you can't fit the front pulley from a
large crank to a small crank, so it is down to whether the small crank
engines were ever fitted with the larger pulley for an alternator.
