Interesting. I wonder why the specs are different for the Spits and the
Midgets. My endfloat is 0.010" exactly on a brand new engine, read very
little wear. Any ideas on what differences between the two engines can
account for the different endfloat? I seem to remember someone telling me
the cranks are different. Can anyone verify that?

Mike

According to the Bentley manual, the crankshaft end-float should be
  in between .004-.008" (.102-.203mm) for 75-80 1500 Spits.

Standard thrust washers are .091-.093" (2.31-2.36mm), and oversize ones
  are .096-.098" (2.44-2.49mm).
