Hi Nick. My '77 came with a pusher fan. The previous owner used long strips
of 3/4" metal that he screwed the shroud tabs to and then drilled & screwed
it into the uprights on either side of the radiator. It's nice & tight to
the radiator but doesn't go thru the radiator coils. Might want to see if
you can fabricate something along these lines. The metal strips should be
easy to find at your local hardware store for pennies.
Incidentally, he then ran a wire into the passenger compartment and added a
small $2.98 rocker switch under the dash, sort of in front of the oil
pressure guage (next to the driver's knee). The fan pulls enough current
that the cheapo rocker doesn't light when it's in the "on" position, but it's
easy to see & get to so it's not that big a deal.
Let us know how you make out.
Scott
