Yikes!  Asheville NC (me) is moderately pricey, but not like CA or the 
New England / DC area.  OTOH, I have a bud' in southwestern Ohio that 
purchased a "nice 3 car garage with attached house" for like < $80k on a 
foreclosure deal.
