That would be ZDDP. All but removed from the latest oil formulations--except 
some 20W-50 oils--because it damages catalytic converters, causing cars to run 
smoggier. 

By all accounts, a non-issue unless you're running a pushrod engine with solid, 
'flat' lifters. There are reports of premature cam failures on this type of 
engine, but I haven't heard of any problems with hydraulic lifter or OHC 
engines (which is pretty much all newer engines).

You've got it all wrong, I don't do 3k miles anymore. Now I do 4k miles.
