I also have DeWalt tools, and have for about 15 years. It used to be - 
and may still be- that if you take a DeWalt tool into one of their 
warranty stations they will rebuild it completely, replacing any worn 
parts for about 50% of the drill's current price. Even if your drill 
does not need all that, they have parts and can repair the drill quickly.

DeWalt will also sell you repair parts on the web, I bought parts for my 
router about a year ago and installed them myself.
