It's a little surprising that you don't have the problem on battery
power, since the antenna/power cord is in the same place - it's almost
as if the radio's power supply itself is the issue.
I'd start by putting a ferrite on the power cord, near the radio. Something
like

though I'm not entire sure how it will affect the antenna that is
also inside the cable (and running through the core)!
