Personally, I'd call them back and say you're going to return the glasses as
defective if they don't tell you how to remove the paint.

If the lenses are glass, then likely lacquer thinner will remove it without
harming the lenses.  But if they are plastic, I wouldn't try it.

Another way around the problem might be to look up the MSDS for the "magic
cleaner".  It will list the constituent solvents.
