my thoughts also...

I wouldn't think that the wiring would be a problem... the existing hi-beam 
wiring is made to handle the hi-beams  as is the lo-beam wiring...   my main 
concern was heat in the plastic housing from having both of them on at once 
for an extended time.

I'd considered adding driving lights (it has those cute useless accessory 
lights in the molded air dam/bumper that add additional light in the 10' and 
closer area in front of the car.  There are two more identical holes in the 
dam where driving lights (with appropriate wiring and relays would be added) 
could be added if I  could find something higher than 55 watt (which is 
basically useless) that would fit the openings... I used to run add on 
driving lights on my truck that were relayed in when the high beams were 
on... really added some additional distance to the headlights...

As I get older... I need the extra light at night (pupils dilated or not !)
