I agree completely, but there's an additional consideration if you ever have
visitors in your shop ... valves sometimes get turned when they shouldn't
be.
I've had my Chinese engine hoist for several years now, used it many times,
and it also slowly drifts to the ground. It's a bit of an irritation, but
doesn't seem to indicate incipient failure. Can't prove it, but I rather
suspect the problem is that the valve doesn't seal tightly, rather than a
seal leaking.
