A couple of companies manufacture smoke generators that route the smoke
into the intake manifold (or other places as well). If you have a leak,
the smoke leaks out (just like electrical theory <G>). I have seen the
typical German braided lines that would pass visual inspection, but leak
like a sieve.
Find someone with one of these (cost about $900) and for a few minutes
of diagnosis time you've got it.
