I work in a restroation shop and sure if have tried this but, with the
questions always asked in relation to HVLP guns, what about turing down the
patteren your gun sprays. Most guns full-size or not will adjust to a small
pattern. We have a couple of touch up guns at work, but normally use only
the full size HVLP guns and normally do not have a problem with small parts
(ie leaf springs, bolts, hangers, shackles, etc...) And all of this is done
for either show or drivers.

PS they also use only full-size guns at McPherson College restoration
program and that program has turned out many show winners.
