I know that Interstate makes their own batteries (or at least used to), my
sister used to work for them in Indiana.  I've also heard that Exide makes
their own, and OEMs them to many other companies.

How can you tell who made an OEM battery ?  The one I just bought from Pep
Boys (a local auto chain) doesn't seem to have any info, except "distributed
by ...".  Doesn't even say "Made in USA".
