Using epoxy-type paints exposes the user to isocyanates. Isocyanates
cause a severe (life-threatening) allergic reaction in some people.
OSHA requires a supplied-air respirator for anyone who uses the stuff
professionally, and it's not a bad idea for anyone who uses it at
home. Cartridge-type respirators will not trap or absorb enough
of the isocyanate to sufficiently protect the user. My .02 after 10
years in the occ health field.
