Guy,

I have a nighthawk CO monitor in the house.  It does read out CO in PPM,
parts per million on a digital display.  I bouth mine through the Gas
company, but I believer the discounters would have them under $50
probably around $35.

BTW, OSHA allows up to 50 PPM continous.  I agree about not working in
the garage without one.  There are, however, cardboard sheet indicators
with dots that "turn black" in the presence of CO.  These shoud be very
cheap, although I have no idea where to get them.
