I have a Craftsman oilless compressor. After a meltdown I took it apart to
discover it has a piston. The flapper valves in the head were out of whack.
Also, the thing runs so hot the seal on the line that runs fromthe head to the
tank disentragrated. Being thrifty, (read lazy) I keep experimenting with new
materials for the seal. The homemade seals usually last between 5 minutes to
a few hours.
For the money, it is a good compressor. My wife bought it for me when she was
"courting" me. I probably would have bought a better one, but, what can I say?
