Jack-
The speaker housing might make a nice touch. Give me a guess as to postage & I
will send you a check. Thanks for sharing.
I want to keep the late model collapsible steering column, so I "shrunk" the
plastic cowl so it does not interfere with the dash, & so I am using the late
model turn signals, wiper controls, etc. Because the cowl is still larger than
the original, it obscures the dash gauges, speedo & tach, so I made an aluminum
insert, used the later small gauges, & relocated them slightly.
The remaining problem in using the early gauges is the poor lighting. Side
lights
just don't match back lighting. I think I can use a later housing for the fuel
gauge, but don't know how to improve lighting on the combination gauge. I may
try
2 side lights.
Now, does anyone out there happen to have a '67 or '68 steering wheel you would
part with???
The latest air conditioning scheme is similar to the GT, but I am using a unit
from a company called Hot Rod Air. It is slightly larger, & blows more air.
There
are some pictures on my web site under "new project" mgbv8.com You might
want
to check it out.
Just wrinkle painted the dash & will install tomorrow. If it looks OK, I'll
e-mail a picture. Wait until the "experts" see this!
