Seems really weird to be thinking about trying to cool an MG while it is
snowing and sleeting. About 7 or 8 inches to dig out of the driveway with
a couple feet of the crap on the ground. Young guys shovel, old guys with
long driveways jump in the Case tractor. It has a cab but it ain't exactly
climate controlled. Winter sucks.

My Green '67 has the '65 Mustang max cooling Modine radiator for now....

Previous was an original MG V-8 rad. Real original, it was the old split
core. But, it cooled OK. Not outstanding but adequate.

Things changed with the Ford radiator:

Ford is 4 inches taller and 1/2 inch narrower. 2 pounds lighter, the
system holds 1 1/2 quarts more water. The Ford is a high efficiency 3 tube
core about 1/2 inch thinner than the B V-8 radiatior. The Ford rad must
have the inlet moved to the left side so to separate the in and out from
being in line. The mounting straps are reversed side to side.

A 16 inch 2100 cfm puller fan now fits. This is the largest improvement.
The rubber bumper twin fans work, but require a small (no space available)
engine driven supplemental fan. The 16 inch electric stands alone and this
sucker rips. A 2700 cfm fan would be perfect. The biggest cooling problem
in the MGB is airflow.

Years ago used some of the early Howe aluminum rads in a asphalt oval
racer. They stood a lot more abuse than any copper radiatior ever did.
Repaired them with epoxy on the spot.

In practice the Mustang and the MGB V-8 radiator seem equal with the better
fan giving the Ford the edge. The Griffin aluminum Mustang with a few mods
should be the cool set up IMO.
