    The earliest reference with a dwell reading (not specific to TFs) is a
1975 Tune-Up Specs "manual" that lists a 56-59 MGA 1500, and in fact it is the
same dwell angle for all 4 cylinder MG's: A, B, Magnette, Midget, 1100, etc.
The dwell for all these cars is 60 degrees. Incidentally, it also is the same
for all (listed) 4 cylinder Lucas equipped cars such as Sprite, Austin,
Hillman, Metropolitan, Morris, and Triumph TR3, TR4, TR4A, but not most
Spitfires. So 60 is probably a good bet. Start with a point gap of 15 thou.
