The distributors did exactly as the name implies. The acted as the
distribution agents for the factory. They supplied cars to the dealers.
Sometimes, in fact in most cases, the distributors were also dealers selling
to the general public. University Motors is a case in point. They not only
sold to the public, but they also supplied cars to other dealers.
