Don, I'm going from memory, but the RJF should work fine as long as you
don't want to use the third (sliding) brush. With a more modern two-brush
generator or removing the slider from an original you should be OK. There
will be logistics problems if you have the original PLC switch, though. I
can't think of all the contacts on the back of the PLC on a P-type but the
original ones I've seen are OFF, D (for Dynamo charge), Side, Head. Maybe it
will simply not charge on OFF and act like a regulator on D. I'm using a
thouroughly modern 2 brush on my F-type and am planning on using an RJF
because it's got the great old classic look (looks like a CJR) but also has
a regulator.   tommm
