Russ;

Naw, I'll just stop over at the Pima Air Museum-- it's only about 3 miles
down the road.

Neil:
my reference says Blackbird takes off at about 200knots (230mph). Since
it's WAY heavy at takeoff, I suspect it lands slower. (the one I saw do a
"touch-and-go" at Kelly looked MUCH slower-- but they are so big, it might
be easy to get fooled about that!)
Wanna help me get the wheels off the one at Wright-Pat?? The "mains" are
slicks.
Got a really tall bumper jack that'll handle 60,000lbs? (I assume the 'bird
is empty-- otherwise we'd need 3 of those jacks!)
Russ

Jim;

I see on pg 36 of the Goodyear Aviation catalog that an SR-71 takes a 27.5 x
7.5 tire with a 22-ply rating. I wonder what its speed rating is?
Hmmmmm.......

Thanks for those links!
