Alan, I remember now that you mention it that Moss had a recall of their =
adapter for some problem like that, but it was solved before I got mine. =
The adapter I have has filtered my oil for almost 40 years and 131,000 =
miles now, so if the filter is being bypassed it has caused no problems =
with the engine. I think I=E2=80=99ll keep it.

and the oil completely bypassed the filter in operation. Not sure if =
it=E2=80=99s because it was designed for a puralator and I had a =
teclemite or vice versatile, who knows.

It makes absolutely no difference where the filter is made unless the =
manufacturer specifies different material in its manufacturing process. =
Absolutely every step of the fabrication is automated and made by robots =
except the step of lining up the bottom part of the filter and I doubt =
an American can drop it in place any better than a Chinese. See a video =
on YouTube how Fram filters are made.=20
Given the relatively low price of an oil filter, I would still change =
the filter every oil change.
