My mechanic installed points in my BJ8 engine so he could static time
the engine and start it on the first crank on their test stand, then
re-installed the Pertronix when they were done running it in. When I got
the engine back in the car it would barely run and was backfiring like
crazy. I checked the timing, and it was about 20deg retarded; looks like
he forgot to re-time it.
