Optima Red Top. I have had one in my car now for 12 years and still working
fine. Just replace my sons Yellow top in his 67 Mustang that was 16 years old.

The one thing with the Optima batteries they will not charge properly with a
convential battery charger and do not use a fast charger on them. You MUST use
a charger that is designed for a AGM style battery.

I took a stroll thru the archives but not find difinitive answers to my hunt.

I need to replace a 2 year old Interstate battery in my BJ8. The archives
mention Interstate (I'm not impressed with them) and the gel based batteries.

What experiences have people had with dependability and longevity as well as
starting strength with batteries? Should I consider Diehard in the mix?

Thanks,

Fred,

66 BJ8
