Ah! Ignorance is bliss. Back 35 years ago when I had to drive my BJ8 home
from Washington state to California (there was a longshoremen's strike
going on and it couldn't be shipped to CA), my right leg got so hot leaning
against the tunnel, I had to stop and buy a newspaper and place it between
my leg and the tunnel. I had never heard of Dynamat or any other such
product at the time so what to do to insulate? By golly, I had some left
over fiberglass insulation left over in the attic. So I removed the tunnel,
cleaned it well, sprayed on some adhesive and stuffed the tunnel full of
house insulation. Worked great. I have since replaced that insulation with
the foil backed rubber. I think Pink Panther did a better job.
