 I agree that just finishing in these races is a win. Not sure that I would=
 go back next year.=C2=A0 With it being so far away (I am in far eastern MA=
), its tough to get there during the season to learn the track better to be=
 competitive.=C2=A0 I need to check my odometer, but I think it was about 2=
800 miles round trip.=C2=A0=C2=A0
I watched the SRF race from the viewing area at turn 5 with the big screen.=
=C2=A0 Saw on the screen the rear corner of body work flying off and was gl=
ad to see that it did not land on anyone, but didn't know if someone later =

=A0 So many crashes, body panels flying everywhere, Virtual Safety Car sess=
ions.=C2=A0 But even the Spec Wrecker Fords are smart enough not to go thro=
ugh The Kink 3 wide.=C2=A0 We have a strict limit of 2 wide.=C2=A0=20

With all the interrupted quali sessions, my quali did NOT go at all well an=
d I ended up in 44thof 57 cars.=C2=A0 =C2=A0But I moved up to 31st in the r=
ace, mostly by not dying, getting the car to the finish line in one piece.=
=C2=A0 I=E2=80=99m calling that a win and hoping to do better next year.=C2=
=A0 Fast time of 2:32.9, about 1.7 seconds off my best times there.

Anthony, I did not get a chance to stop by your paddock, but saw you drivin=
g around down in the north paddock at one point during the week.=C2=A0 Did =
not see you at the NER party Tuesday night.=C2=A0 I was racing in my FP Mia=
ta.=C2=A0 My son was there too in my Bumble Bee Miata, but blew the engine =
Monday afternoon.=C2=A0 No one was willing to sell their spare engine, so h=
e went home sad.=C2=A0 While I had the same HP as the winning Miata with a =
Prather engine, I needed to find another 10 seconds (found 8 for my first q=
ualifying session, but still needed 10 more to be in the mix).=C2=A0 First =
time at RA and only got one full test day session and one full qualifying.=
=C2=A0 Others were cut to 2 or 3 laps due to crashes.=C2=A0 I was surprised=
 by the number of crashes in most groups during the week.=C2=A0 FP Miata dr=
iver paddocked next to me went to the hospital (dropped a wheel off coming =
out of carousel, spun and hit wall), one Spec Miata driver was air lifted o=
ut during qualifying (trying to go 3 wide thru kink), while others went by =
ambulance to hospital, GT1 driver,=C2=A0Lou Gigliotti, who started his race=
 career in what is now my TR3A, went to hospital with multiple fractures.=

My goal for the race was just to keep my nose clean (Jesse Prather's advice=
 too) and finish.=C2=A0 I started 23rd and finished 15th.=C2=A0 Had a coupl=
e cars to race with at the back, so that kept it interesting.=C2=A0 Only go=
t down to 1:46.3.
