Hello FOT,

As many of you have read today, SVRA, the host to the Kastner Cup this year at
Sonoma Raceway has adopted a new fire suppression system requirement. You can
find it at this link: SVRA-General-Rules-1_24.pdf
https://svra.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/SVRA-General-Rules-1_24.pdf

Matt Rose, the director of west coast operations for SVRA has written back and
said that there is flexibility on these rules. I wrote and told him that I
would survey the systems our FOT drivers have installed now so we get a better
understanding of the situation.

If you are registered or even thinking about it, could you send me a photo of
your fire supression system. I think this is the best way to get clarification
now so we are not hit with surprises upon arrival at the track. I'd be
surprized if we have even one car that meets their new requirements.

Please don't reply to all and bomb the FOT list. Just send the photo to
me at this email: curt.johnston@comcast.net mailto:curt.johnston@comcast.net

You can also text me at 707-249-1667.

I'll share the photos with the full KC Race Committee so we have our ducks in
order when we respond to SVRA.

We will work this out. I recall in the past we're had to deal with strict tire
regulations, but we found a compremise. Running the Kastner Cup with different
sanctioning bodies across the country always seem bring up issues like this.

Thanks!

Curt Johnston
