i have had numerous sets of pistons coated/recoated for competition use.
typically, my local vendor of such services says he wont add more than
0.002" so in that case, you are limited with what you can 'recondition"
using that system. It is described as "moly-teflon"
the coatings i've used will not 'fill in" deep scratches etc so the
machined finish on the piston needs to be near-perfect
when used on supercharger rotors, it is <0.001" thick
i have no personal experiences with the brand listed
