Sounds like a worn input shaft bearing. Nothing to do short of tear
down the tranny - not bad on a 4 speed but a significant effort on a
2L 5 speed.

I'd drain and refill the fluid, to minimize further wear, and then not
worry too much unless/until it gets noisier, though I suppose there's
some risk it could come apart and spew metal through the rest of the
box.

Of course, if metallic sludge and chunks pour out when you do
the fluid change, you may want to explore further :-)
