An answer to Gregs question:
I only put a few thousand miles on the car a year, if that. But, those are
hard miles including
autocrossing. I am pretty sure the pressure really isnt zero, becuase it
would have blown up by now. I should just swap out the ancient gauge and
sender with a new autometer gauge or similer
and good sender and have that good safe feeling back, but the truth is that
it dosnt bother me.

Previous threads from years back have talked about this being a common
problem, and although the pressure does get low at hot idle, that is normal,
and a lot of the problem is with the gauge and sender not being accurate.

Hope this helps.
