Lou,

I have been aware of your work for FREDROC for some time. That awareness is
a natural part of the position you have served in. I also know how much
work the rest of the club must do to make the show successful. I know you,
and others like you in other clubs, have taken a lot of heat from those who
enjoy the benefits of the work to further the enjoyment of their hobby but
have no idea of what it takes to get even a small event off of the ground.
They don't contribute, but have a lot to complain about. Any event gets off
of the ground with the outlay of a LOT of work by a number of core committee
members and a lot of unseen helpers. Without them nothing would ever
happens. I would like to thank you all for putting on what looked and
sounded like a very nice weekend. I really wanted to be there... Maybe next
year.

I have not been able to attend any roadster event for the last couple of
years. I hope that events like these won't become a thing of the past
because of poor judgment by some uninformed idiot, or some jerk with a
grudge to lash out and derive some sort of perceived revenge.

This last attack didn't just hurt some of the vendors, or FREDROC club
members. It hurt everyone in the Datsun Roadster community. We all derive
so much enjoyment from these little cars. That is why this list is so
strong. Jerks like those making unnecessary waves hurt not only the target
of the remark, but every car owner as well.

I am sorry to hear that even some of your own club members are not happy
with things as they were. At least now someone else will get a chance to
bask in the "glory". I hope there is someone up to the task you took on.
In my experience with clubs of any sort there is always a core group who
gets things done, there are a few club members who can always be counted on,
and yet others who help out here and there, but not always. It sounds like
FREDROC just lost a core member, and those are hard to come by. I hope in
time you will reconsider and give the roadster community another chance.
Maybe this last round of trash was a learning lesson for us all. I hope so.
