I've run 5w30 Valvoline in my '93 Quest for all 140,000 miles. Does
not use ONE DROP of oil! Haven't seen much point in going synthetic;
costs 4 times as much and lasts only 3 times longer...
I wouldn't think of putting 5w30 in a roadster. The general consensus
seems to be 20w50 for summer, 10w40 for winter (below 20). Mine runs
better with 10w40, but goes thru it quicker (<2,000 miles/qt), so I
decided to try a 'blend' this last summer; 2 qts 20w50, 3.25 qts 10w40.
WOW, it REALLY likes that! Altho I'll probably switch to straight 10w40
for winter. 20w50 is kinda hard to turn over when it's 0 degs(F) out.
