Sun, 23 Jul 2000 "Victor Laury" <vlaury@earthlink.net> entertained
some questions wrt to tune..

_I_ wanted to thank Toby and Laurie for their replies.. I JUST
found out my #2 plug wire of less-than-a-year-old, is DOA (thank you
pep boyz).

NOW you tell me :) . Try last Saturday up Trail Ridge Road, 12,000 feet
altitude, running like crap, finally vaporlocking (dang, can't WAIT
to see what it runs like on FOUR cylinders!!).

>Personally, I've had decent luck with NAPA,...

Thanks, I've gotta run down there today!!

Laurie mentioned:

Absolutely (ask me how i know ;( )!! Stupid things seem to go out of
adjustment quickly -- constant battle keeping them there. I haven't
found anything better than Bosch so far. Stay away from Autozone and
Pep Boys points.

OOohhh 2 points for NAPA!!

Anyway, I've been fighting this battle for the last couple of weeks
(daily driver). Car started running a little pukier by the day. I was
SURE is was fuel -- replaced filter, PUMP, LINES, tweaked carbs, to no
avail. Finally (DOH!) I pulled the plug wires one at a time while idling.
#2 cylinder made no difference! (except the metal connector from the plug
wire remained plugged to the plug and not the wire!!). I borrowed a
wire from my '82 datsun pickup this AM, and FINALLY saw an improvement
(didn't 100% cure it, but those are probably original wires. Hey, Roadster
comes first!). Still missing a bit though, so I guess I'll replace cap,
rotor, points, and wires..
I want to find a really GOOD set of wires though. I guess I'll try NAPA's,
unless somebody can advise something better? (please post directly to me, as
I'm in digest mode, and won't get your post until tomorrow -- too late!).

thanks,
