Rear axle bearing shims/uglydash

    Two questions y'all
1)  where and what do you measure  to make sure you put the right shims
in the back axle when you've put in a  new bearing. 67.5 2000
And
2) how the heck do you get an instrument pod out of the dash of a 69
1600? I need to replace the amp meter, and I am not having fun yet.
