Make a puller out of a piece of mild steel bar stock. Put two plain thru holes
sized and
spaced to line up with the oil pan screw holes in the main cap, a pair of
threaded holes,
one on either end of the bar, outboard of the edges of the cap. The threaded
holes should
be minimum 3/4" holes, better 1". Bolt the bar to the cap, install bolts in the
threaded
holes and turn them 1/4 to 1/2 turn, alternately. This will pull the main cap
out evenly
and gently. Oh, and put something under the ends of the bolts to protect the
gasket
surface.
