Hello list,
Moving thru the front end of my project, last night was steering box night,
noticed fill cap on top of box was plastic and drain plug on side was
10mm. Sort of strange since rest of car is SAE. Can someone verify
if this is a box from a newer car? Are internal guts/ratio the same?
Box was tight and didnt need to be adjusted. Drained out a small
amount of thick black goop. Rinsed with kerosene several
times, blew air thru it, and filled with Red Line 75-90.
(had part of a quart left over from differential).
Is this good fluid for the box? Whole front end works smooth
easy and tight with light hand pressure now.
