1976 Jaguar XJ12L (4 door, long wheelbase) Series II
Light yellow (original color), clearcoat laquer top coat is crazing.
Black interior, leather on front seats not too good (I was going
to use sheepskins). Headliner is drooping, carpeting marginal.
Glass is good, windows work, factory chrome wheels with decent tires.
Runs, but has exhaust leak on one side (header pipe to manifold?)
Lucas electronic ignition/fuel injection. Currently registered
thru January 1995. I believe that it was sold new at Monterey
Jaguar, and I have many records from the previous owners.
I think it is a real pretty car (but I *like* yellow cars). The
body is straight - just a couple of minor dings. No major rust that
I can see - a couple of minor surface spots around glass rubber to
body.
I paid $800 for it, and have spent a few more $ at the DMV, getting
the Haynes manual for it, etc. I was planning to fix it up and drive
it, but I just don't have the time and my wife says I have too many
cars, so it has to go :-( I would like to get $900 for it.
