I have been following this and wanted to get the ruling
from an offical source. Since I was at the Town Hall to
vote yesterday, I stopped in the building codes/assesor
office. I live in Lima NY, Livingston Co. This is about
4 mi south of the Monroe Co line, Rochester NY. The code
for service areas below grade are permitted provided they
are 3 times as wide for each foot of length. Fresh air
ventilation has to be povided by a fan to a spec given.
Lighting, drainage, etc have to be installed too. He gave
me an example to look at. Ck out the instant oil change
places they have pits and are very large.
So if you realy want to put ome in it can be done, but
sure seems like a lot of work and $$$.
