Brakes:
I've heard mention of GT6 brakes being transposed to the spit for
better/more braking power. What is involved in the swap? i.e., just
the rotors/drum/callipers/shoes or the brake cyclinder too? Which is the best
year to take the brakes off to stick on a 1975 (1500) Spit....I'm
assuming a 75 or thereabouts GT6.

Drivetrain:
Is the GT6 drivetrain more robust than the Spit 1500? Will the GT6 rear end
fit easily onto the Spit frame without mods?
I'm starting planning
for my Spitfire 'rodding' project and need to find out some more
about drivetrains....these are my current thoughts....

1) Use RX7 rotary with original rear end
2) Meatier motor (v6 prob...v8 too much) thus requiring a stronger rear end...
will the GT6 stuff suffice? If I went with a low torque v6 would it be
possible to stick with the original rear end?

The rotary conversion is nice....but high $$$ maintanance concerns me....
and there aren't too many wrecked RX7s in the local yards!

Resto:
Homebrew rust remover. I know, gone over before! Greg said it's poss. to
use vinegar solution over a few weeks, and I've heard of people using coke (!).
It seems the prefered NastyStuff (tm) is phosphoric acid. Do you just
waltz into your local hardware shop and say "a gallon of your finest
phosphoric acid my good man....heres a nickel for your trouble"? I'm
just wondering where to get it....and what strength solution to use,
AND then how long to leave parts in?

If you please...all posts to me and I will desseminate later.

Marcus
