This is a general question to all British car owners who have to have
their pride and joy inspected for emissions compliance. I have a 77 MGB
that needs to go in for emissions testing in WI. It will not pass as
fitted with non original induction and exhaust (dual carbs and header).
What do other owners do to pass? Is there an exemption? I am contemplating
selling the car due to these emissions hassles.
As a note, it passes well within the tailpipe emissions test, but would
fail the underhood, catalitic(sp) converter, airpump inspection, and new
emissions pieces cost more than I paid for the car!
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
