Aerospatiale has developed a new type of flight control
actuation system, designed by Lucas, on an A320 aircraft. This

system uses an Electric Back-Up Hydrostatic Actuator to move the
aircraft's aileron surface. The flight control system allows a
high performance electro hydraulic power pack to provide an
alternative power source in case of hydraulic supply failure."
