>1) So, which came first: Chevy Chevette, Opel Kadette or Vauxhall Chevette?

The Chevette was a "World Car" with versions built by GM everywhere. Damned if
I know which was built first. I assume that it came out everywhere at the same
time. The German version was called an Opel Kadette, but it is not the same
car sold as an Opel Kadette in the USA in the sixties. I do know that the damn
things don't go in snow. The present mayor of Saint Paul used to like in a
duplex kittycorner from me. I was always pushing his Chevette.

>2) Is there yet another Chevette somewhere? (If so, why? :-)

Don't know what they were all called, or what different GM cars might have used
the name.

>3) Which one had the mid-mounted V-8 you referred to?

None of the above. Figured I would get you with that one! The original use of
the name "Chevette" was for an American sports/racing car in the middle
sixties. I saw one in Bloomington, MN, at the now-defunct Met Stadium when
LOL/SCCA held races in the car park. This was in 1966, I think. I may still
have a picture.

>4) Which, if any, carries the same bolt circle as the Vega?

None that I know of. I took some Shelby wheels off a Chevette, and I am here
to tell you, they were 100mm. I measured the studs.

>5) Which is related to the others, if any?

Don't know.

>6) And is anyone still reading this claptrap by now?

Why would they? To escape the Wendover donnybrook on Autox?
