Lee,
It's has two "flywheel" sides. Pressed to one side it just connects both shafts
direcly (not OD), to the other side engages the OD mechanism.
If you don't have a repair manual and you're interested in the OD section I'm
glad to provide you a copy (which type of OD ? A, D or J) and mail it to you.
It will take a little bit as I'm located in Germany ...
