Does anybody know what the proper ignition timing for a 1967 Austin-Healey
3000 should be? The Bentley manual says "static - 6 degrees BTDC" and
"stroboscopic - 15 degrees BTDC @ 600 rpm."  I assume by "stroboscopic"
they mean using a timing light and "static" means, well, static. The 15
degrees BTDC @ 600 rpm seems quite advanced, although the engine runs
OK and never pings.

Bonnet = hood

Boot = trunk

Hood = (convertible) top

Drophead = convertible (?)

Stroboscopic = using a timing light (?)

Any others for my "British to `Mercun" Dictionary?

Regards,
Bob
