I apologize for using a Bad Word in my posting about valve
adjustment.

Past that, my article was not directed at anyone in particular, nor
was it intended belittle anyone.  It was simply trying to point out
that valve clearances are not published without a lot of forethought,
and quick wheezes (is this word ok?) to improve
perfomance/economy/whatever shouldn't be ventured into without a
similar amount of forethought.
