Hi, SOLs one and all!
I have been following all the comments about bounces closely and
everyone has it pretty much right. As owner of this list, I do
usually see all the problems directly ... with the possible
exception of problems with messages originating in the U.K.
John (or anyone else out there), could I ask you to send me
the headers from any bounces you see often?
Second thing is that you needn't remember me to reach me with a
list matter. We now have british-cars-request@encore.com working
just fine.
Finally, unlike Jim, I have the list set up, as was observed, to
show the sender bounces and to allow you to reply to an individual
should you choose. I think this offers lots of advantages to
compensate for the annoying bounced messages. Even those do serve
if your article was really supposed to reach an _Important SOL_
like Roger for specific comment/advice. The bounce will tell you
that it didn't. When it didn't. Oh, never mind! :-)
Now for the obligatory car bit, my first sports car was almost a
Sunbeam Alpine way back in the late '50's. My Mom talked me out
of it ("It's so tiny") and I ended up with a POS Simca Oceanne.
Actually that was a fun little car too, but I bet I would have
kept the Alpine a whole lot longer and maybe had it to this day!
And to think that the going rate was under $2500 a car!!!
