It looks fairly likely that my husband and I will be moving to Boston
next year. We will be taking our '66 MGB along.

I am wondering whether people with MG's, Spitfires,... take any
extra precautions or need to worry about their cars being stolen.
Having lived in Boston for four years (but having been car-less) I seem
to remember people being extra-paranoid about auto theft and vandalism.
Now I am wondering if I need to worry about our car there.

We live in San Francisco now and often leave our car parked without a
top because the top is the kind that comes completely off and it is a
pain to take on and off. Also, it doesn't rain much. (At night at
home we put a car cover on it because we live in a fog zone.) So far,
the only vandalism we've had is a stolen rear-view mirror (in exchange
for a deflated ballloon.) The previous owner had the top stabbed. But
generally, we don't worry about the car too much because it's not in
GREAT shape and there are tons of MG's around here.

Will we have to be more careful in Boston?

Also, does Boston salt roads?

thanks,
