I am in a dilemma about whether to wax my roadster. The pro side
says that wax protects the paint and looks good. On the other hand,
I had a body man tell me one time that you should never use wax on
a car, since the silicones make it impossible to repaint in the future
without fisheyes and such. In other words, once you've got silicone
on there, you've got silicone forever. My situation is that the paint
is in excellent shape, about three years old, the car has been driven
very little and virtually always garaged. Unfortunately, the paint
also chips very easily, so I need to touch it up regularly and may
need to repaint someday.

What do you folks do?

(What brought this on is that I just walked around the block, and as
I passed the car I noticed that something about the size of an eagle
had taken the biggest dump I've ever seen on the hood. Yech!!!)
